SWAD, a.k.a. Swadbeats, is one of the most creative artists to come out of Long Island in recent history. His journey begins in Hicksville, a culturally diverse area with a deep South Asian influence. SWAD started by making beats in his basement. From the get-go, it was obvious that SWAD had a keen ear for distinct, special sounds. His style of sampling has a certain warmth that is channeled only through the most soulful of people, and it is this warmth, this deep memory of pain, which creates the realms and soundscapes that SWAD resides in. 

SWAD's entourage of artists have ranged from the bouncy, athletic style of YGB, to the clever and talented Mansa.wav, to the magical mind of Hakai. Artists such as Finesse, Kahme.Wav, and Arson, are all examples of people who sought to work with SWAD, not only for his knowledge of music and production, but for his ceaseless work ethic too. SWAD is energized by other artists, and views collaborative work as the zenith of creativity. Underlying much of SWAD's music is a combination of influences from Neo-Soul to Bollywood. His Muslim/Indian influence adds a unique spice to the mix, in fact it was his oral readings of the Koran in madresa, which he credits his ability to seamlessly articulate lyrics. As for the Hindi Film Industry, there is no denying that the sweet melodies which permeate these films have embedded themselves into SWAD's creations. His singing style has been fine-tuned by these influences, and he has developed a beautiful tonal quality as a result. SWAD's knowledge of music and production, his work ethic, his desire to collaborate, as well as the cultural roots that he derives from, make him a special sort of artist that comes once in a lifetime.
